When a reservation is received in Guesty, from a channel (including a direct integration) or manually created in Guesty, the guest in the reservation will automatically be saved as a new contact.
You can manually make updates to the guest’s details in Guesty, such as:
- First and last name
- Email address and primary email address
- Phone number and primary phone number
- Hometown
- Guest tags
You can tag your guests as "Blocklisted", "Friends and family", "Management", "Staff", "Loyalty Program", and/or "VIP".
This can be used as one of your reservation report's filters. - Preferred language. You can also easily communicate with a multi-lingual client base, by using "guest preferred language" as a sending condition in your automated messages.
- External profiles
- Internal notes
- The guest travel information, including:
- Transportation method
- Flight number
- Reason for visit
- Booked on behalf of someone else (Yes/No)
- Additional details, such as allergies, birthday, and identity number.
Before you begin
Below is some important information to know about updating your guest's details:
- You cannot replace guests in a reservation. Instead, you can create a new reservation with the new guest's details.
- Guests (as well as other contacts in Guesty) are linked with reservations and other data, therefore they can't be deleted. If you need a guest’s record to be deleted, please contact us
- All reservations in Guesty must have one assigned guest. Once a guest is added to a reservation, they cannot be changed or removed from it.
If you have different guests, you must create a new reservation under their name(s). - Updating a guest’s details will change their details in all the reservations that they're assigned to, as well as, on their contact page
Updating your guest's details
Follow the instructions below to update your guest contact details or travel information via the reservation page. You can also update the guest contact details via the inbox, or the Multi-Calendar. Click to the right of the relevant reservation.
To add more details about your guests (such as their identity number, birthday, and allergies), refer to the guest's contact page: In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, and select Operations mode > Guest experience > Contacts.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click More, then select Reservations.
- Click the relevant reservation.
- To update the guest's contact details, click
next to "Guest”. To update the guest's travel information, click

- Edit the relevant information.
- Click Save.
