You can change the dates of a reservation in Guesty or in the reservation channel of origin.

For confirmed reservations, changing the number of nights impacts the added costs, but doesn't affect the original reservation price. The rates for the added nights are calculated according to the current price per night while the price per night for the original nights remains the same. If you subtract nights from a reservation, the remaining nights keep the original price. Fees and taxes that are calculated per night update when you add or remove nights from the reservation.

Example:

A reservation was confirmed for two nights at a rate of $30 per night.

The price per night was since optimized by a revenue management tool and is now $32.

If you add a night to the reservation, the price per night for the original two nights remains $30. The price of the added night is $32.

Fees and taxes charged per night are calculated according to the original price for the first two nights, and according to the adjusted price for the added night.

Fees and taxes charged per stay or per guest are not affected.

For a reservation in "Inquiry" or "Reserved" status, changes to the reservation triggers a recalculation of the price per night, fees, and taxes.

Price reductions

Changing the reservation's length of stay may qualify it for applicable weekly/monthly discounts. For example, if you set a weekly discount, and you changed the length of the reservation from 3 to 7 days, the discount will be applied automatically.

Where to change the dates of a reservation

Change the dates of a reservation in Guesty or in the channel according to the information below.

Airbnb

Ask your guest to send an alteration request via Airbnb. Once you receive it, approve or decline the alteration request in Airbnb. If you make the changes in Guesty, they will not sync to Airbnb.

Vrbo

If you have a limited sync connection type, change the dates of a reservation directly via Vrbo.If you have a full sync connection type, change in Guesty.

Booking.com

After check-in, you can change the dates in Guesty only once every 24 hours. A date change requires approval by Booking.com. Hence, in the steps below, instead of making an instant date change, click Continue, and then Submit request. Guesty submits the date change request to Booking.com, and the reservation is updated in Guesty once Booking.com makes the changes. Check your availability before submitting the change, as Booking.com does not automatically check if the new dates are available.

To change the reservation price as well, check if you manage your Booking.com payments with a Booking.com payment solution. If you do, change the price via the Booking.com Extranet. If you manage payments on your own, change the price via Guesty.

For reservations before check-in or if less than 24 hours have passed since your latest change, alter the dates via Booking.com.

Change the dates of a reservation in Guesty

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click More and select Reservations.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. For Airbnb reservations, click the vertical ellipsis and select Edit reservation. For other reservations, click the Pencil icon.
  5. Click the check-in or check-out date and select new dates.
  6. At the top of the page, click Change.
  7. In the pop-up, enter the relevant information. If you don't want the accommodation fare to be recalculated for the added nights, use the arrows to the right of "Accommodation fare" to adjust the total accommodation fare (and not just the price difference). To update taxes or additional fees, adjust the line item in the guest folio.
  8. Click Save.

A record of all changes to the accommodation fare will appear in the guest folio's nightly breakdown. If the dates are changed after check-in, the VAT price difference, for example, will appear on a separate line item in the folio, under the original VAT.

Tip:

You can also change the dates of a reservation via the Multi-Calendar or the Inbox. Find the relevant reservation, then click Reservations mobile tap in the right side panel.
