After creating the check-in form in the guest app, we recommend scheduling an automated message to remind guests to complete it. Schedule the automated message to be sent before their check-in. For guests with pre-confirmed reservations (in "Inquiry" or "Reserved" status), you can also send the form or reminder manually.
Follow the instructions below.
Note:
The check-in form is part of our guest app, which includes details about the guest's reservation, such as the confirmation code. The link you send opens the entire app, not just the form.
Send the form or reminder manually
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click Auto-messaging and select Guest app from the dropdown menu.
- In the guest app page, click
to copy the link variable of the relevant app. This variable will turn into a link when sent to the guest in a message.
- Follow these instructions to create a message.
- Paste the variable {{guest_app::my_guest_app}} into the message and send it. Here is an example of a message you can send:
Hi {{guest}},
We look forward to welcoming you to our {{listing_name}}. We kindly request that you complete the check-in form in the guest app before your arrival.

Schedule the form or reminder to be sent automatically
Tip:
We recommend sending the first message at confirmation, not before or after.
If you're also sending a reminder, set it up to be sent after confirmation but before check-in, and add the "Check-in form submitted" condition - set to "No" so only guests who have not completed the form receive the reminder.
Step by step:
- Follow steps 1-4 in "Send the form or reminder manually".
- Create the automated message.
- Add the link to the form in the automated message as a variable, which is which is {{guest_app::my_guest_app}}. Here is an example of a message you can send:
Hi {{guest}},

Send an automated message for completed check-in forms
You can create an automated message that will be sent upon completion of the check-in form by following the steps below.
Step by step:
- Create or edit an automated message.
- Under the "Add conditions" section, click +Add condition and select Check-in form is submitted from the dropdown menu.
- Toggle on Check-in form is submitted .
- Fill out the other relevant details, then click Save.
- Click Save & Activate at the bottom-right corner of the "Messages" page, then click Save & Activate again.
