Adding a fee to a reservation manually

You can create an inventory of fees in Guesty to charge guests for extra services, such as late check-out or laundry services. Additional fees can be added automatically to new reservations based on booking channels or added manually to a specific reservation. 

Read the important limitations associated with some booking channels and follow the instructions below to add a fee to a reservation manually.

Important:

For fees that are added manually in Guesty, you must ensure these payments are scheduled and collected manually.

Booking channel limitations

  • Vrbo

If you have a limited sync connection type this action cannot be taken. If you have a full sync connection type, follow the instructions below.

  • Airbnb

Additional fees will not apply to reservations that are booked with a special offer on Airbnb.

Add fee to a reservation

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click More then select Reservations.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. Click Balance due / Status in the gray banner at the top of the page.
  5. In the "Guest folio breakdown" section, click Add line item.
  6. Fill out the information in the pop-up:
    1. From the dropdown, select the fee.
    2. Enter the amount to charge the guest.
  7. To collect the payment right away, click the tickbox to Continue creating and collecting payment for this invoice item, then click Save & collect. Otherwise, click Add.

Once added, a fee cannot be removed from a reservation. You can adjust a line item in the guest folio to zero or a reduced amount.
